Anti-Defamation League
The Anti-Defamation League, a 98 year old agency, was started to provide just and fair treatment to all citizens alike. The ADL defends democratic ideals and protects civil rights for all. A leader in the development of materials, programs and services, ADL builds bridges of communication, understanding and respect among diverse groups, carrying out its mission. No Place for Hate® is an initiative that empowers people to challenge all the “isms” and all forms of bigotry. The Michigan ADL office launched No Place for Hate® in 2010. This anti-bias initiative provides schools with the tools to reduce intolerance, bullying and name calling and to create a more inclusive learning environment. Students and faculty come together to form a community where they affirm their commitment to respect diversity. Through performing three of over 100 activities the school can customize appropriate activities and reinforce a “Resolution of Respect” and promise to build an environment where all students, teachers and administration will be supportive of each other and create a prejudice free zone where dignity and equality and intergroup harmony are the school goals. The ADL provides supportive staff and materials to go along with the project. Please visit our website for more information>
