I have visited this charity am very impressed. The Charitable Union has been actively supporting the needy of their community for way over 90 years. They give adult clothing as well as school clothes and warm coats and blankets to those in need free of charge. They naturally rely on donations of goods and/or money. It is a very worthwhile charity!

Charitable Union helped 11,500 individuals in 2009. 5500 of these individuals were children.Over 450,000 items were distributed “at no cost” to the recipients. This includes school clothing, winter coats and accessories, shoes, year round clothing, steel toed boots, nursing scrubs and career wear for those entering or re-entering the work place. The founding women wanted kids to have appropriate clothing for school. They thought an education would help them get out of poverty.

The Charitible Union sets up in our lobby every few months to sell homemade items which go directly to the charity’s needs. There are very few overhead administrative costs so the bulk of the monies are spent here in the Battle Creek area… Go Charitible Union!
