Goodwill Industries of Northern Michigan
“The $15,000 grant that we received for the 2009 Holiday Needs Program was a lifesaver! It allowed us to purchase much desired and needed rainproof jackets, sweatshirts, items for teens,(which are very limited through merchandise donations) and other basic necessities like gloves, socks, and hygiene items for the homeless along with low income families needing a helping hand during these tough economic times and the holiday season. Many of our clients have to walk to work or walk a long distance from their bus stop or some even ride their bikes during the winter and in the rain, so dressing in layers and having a waterproof jacket really impacts their life.”
We are grateful to Art Van for helping the Goodwill Holiday Needs program to meet the increased needs and ensure that no child, family or homeless individual is left out of the wonders of the holidays because they are poor or homeless or otherwise in need during the holidays. They enter a joyous time of year with a sense of dignity, well being, gratitude and hope.”
