HAVEN

HAVEN was founded in 1975 as Oakland County’s first sexual assault counseling center. In 1977 they broadened their mission to include domestic violence. Since then, they have been Oakland County’s only agency focused exclusively on domestic and sexual violence. HAVEN’s mission is to eliminate domestic violence and sexual assault through treatment and prevention services across Oakland County and surrounding communities. With the Art Van grant, Haven will conduct Skills for Violence Free Relationships (SVFR) throughout Oakland County schools to as many as 3,000 teenagers. SVFR prevents dating violence by educating teens about healthy/unhealthy relationships, how to intervene when a friend has an abusive partner and where to find help.

Haven was there for me and my children, to guide and counsel us after the abuse perpetrated by their pathological father. They supported me when I needed them. Now I am doing what I can to support them. The services they provide for battered women and children are SO VERY VITAL and will become even MORE VITAL as this world continues its downward spiral. God bless ALL who are a part of this WONDERFUL organization!!!! VOTE FOR HAVEN

All the charities are worth a vote…but Haven has been there for my daughter that had to go though this area of DV. I wish they all could receive some money for the cause they are there for… God Bless them all.
