Northeast Guidance Center
Northeast Guidance Center (NEGC), a community-based mental health care provider since 1963, greatly appreciates the support of Art Van through its Charity Challenge. NEGC uses its challenge dollars to help fund its RIM (Resiliency in Motion) group therapy program that provides daily therapy groups to 700 youth aged 10-14. Cheryl Coleman, NEGC’s President and CEO says, “ The Art Van support provides resources that are greatly needed to bring art and therapy together to help children resolve feelings and challenges. Where else could you get more bang for the buck?”
This year, the Art Van Charity Challenge grant funds were used to maintain art programs and a family fun fair held on August 26th at its Child & Family Services location, 20303 Kelly Road, near Art Van’s 8 Mile store. One RIM participant, identity protected, stated “the RIM program was great because I was able to make lots of friends.”
NEGC serves over 1200 children and their families annually and provides them with important enrichment opportunities that are lacking in our community.
