Paws With A Cause

Paws With a Cause’s mission is to train assistance dogs nationally for people with disabilities and provides lifetime team support. PAWS also promotes awareness through education. Art Van’s grant will help further develop a two-year pilot program to serve 15 children, ages 4-12, with autism through a custom-trained Assistance Dog.

Before I had my daughter I was lucky enough to have time to raise 6 foster puppies for Paws with a Cause, starting way back in 1994. I met some great people and made some wonderful friends. The work people do to get the dogs trained as well as they are is truly amazing. They get my vote!

GO PAWS!! My dear friend has a Paws Seizure Response Dog to help with her epilepsy. That cute little life safer is named Karma. We call her GOOD KARMA because that seems to fit her perfectly. Since Karma has teamed up with Kim….. there has been an added, unforseen bonus for both Karma and Kim. Kim’s seizure activity has decreased with the loving affection and comfort of Karma’s company and Karma has the gotten the best mom in the world! Thanks to PAWS for giving Kim a more independent and less stressful life!

I have raised a puppy for Paws. It was the most challenging and rewarding thing I have ever done. Everyone I spoke to about Gabby was impressed and so happy there are people out there willing to donate time and money for this very worthy cause. Thanks Paws for the opportunity.

Please vote for Paws with a Cause.   We are waiting so very patiently for a brace dog for my husband…we have been waiting for 4 years now.  It’s a matter of funding that is keeping my husband from his independence.  A service dog would enable my husband to go in/out of buildings safely, take walks in the neighborhood allowing his brain to retrain, not to mention the companionship.  Help!

My sister raises dogs for Paws With a Cause.  One day I approached a man in a wheel chair who had a service dog.  I asked him how his dog has changed his life.  He said that the most wonderful thing had happened.  People now came up to him and asked to pet his dog, or asked him about his very sweet, sweet lab.  No one had ever approached this man before he had his dog.  His dog allowed him to connect with people and provided communication, where people were able to see past his disability.  The pup removed him from isolation and made him part of the community.  Vote for Paws – it changes lives!!!!
