Samaritan House is a Christian based community food pantry located in northwestern Macomb County.  Currently we are helping to feed over 629 households.  Many (not) all of these are families, do have income that is just pennies over the government limit so they are disquaified for food stamps.  These families are attempting to work, maintain their utilities, rent, car payment and car repairs plus feed and clothe their children.  Some of our clients are seniors attempting to live on less than $900 per month.  We have families who at one time were purchasing a house-until the michigan economy began this downward spiral, and now have used their 401K money and retirement savings and still do not have a job to put food on the table for their children.  Donations to Samaritan House stay in Michigan and help people in our service area.  In addition to a food pantry, Samaritan House can help with utility shut offs and rent in eviction status and work with DHS and Macomb County Community Action Center.  We are a Commodity distribution center and deliver Focus:HOPE food to seniors, have a Christmas program, a backpack program for children and free income tax preparation for low income individuals.  Through an agreement with Henry Ford Health Systems, we offer a clinic for low income individuals.   We are a small but mighty non-profit organization in operation since January, 1995.  We currently have three paid part time employees and rely on voluteers to provide the over 500 hours of time per month required to keep the doors open.  I humbly ask you to vote for Samaritan House and assure you we work diligently to be good shepherds with the donations and money you bless us with.

May God Continue His Blessing to you and your family.
